GEFC has long been devoting to the development of energy storage technology. We possess many patented technologies in the areas of vanadium cell, fuel cell, and cell system. 

A.VFB and VFB System:

Patented technologies:

1. Perfluorinated Ion Membrane

Our patented “Dissolved Resin Casting” technology is used for the production of perfluorinated proton-exchange membrane. It overcomes the shortcomings in the traditional dissolved resin extrusion method and some other key technological difficulties in resin dissolving and membrane recasting.

2. Vanadium Battery Electrode

An electrode with several guiding gutters are used instead of guiding or turbulence screens. This method reduces the volume and internal resistance of the flow cell, improves the transfer and diffusion of the electrolyte, and increases the power density and energy efficiency of the flow cell.

3. Vanadium Cell Stack

Our cell stack is made up of unique vanadium cell electrodes and cell stack structure. The internal pressure is low, benefiting complete sealing and high safety. Long electric tributary loop is used to enable low self-discharge and high current efficiency.

4. Vanadium Cell Electrolyte

Our electrolyte is high in concentration, purity and conductivity. It has good stability with special additive agents, deterring separation under high temperature and crystallization under low temperature. There are only small changes in liquid levels during discharge to resolve the balancing problem between anolyte and catholyte.

B. Fuel Cell:

1. Gas Generator

It is well known that when reaction agent and catalyst meet each other, the gas produced could be collected by a Kipp generator. The generator can control gas pressure automatically through the balance between the gravity of reaction liquid and the gas pressure. However, the generator must be kept upright at all times and is very inconvenient for transport. Our new gas generator is highly portable and can be installed anywhere. It can also be used repeatedly and used with small scale portable fuel cells.

2. Ion Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

Our ion exchange membrane fuel cell employs a unique structure through the integration of cell and gas generator. It is characterized by high level of capacity, security and convenience.
